Software Engineer (PHP)

What are you going to do

• Develop, test, and deploy robust PHP-based web applications and solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional international Scrum teams to design and implement efficient, reusable, and reliable PHP code.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues to ensure smooth performance of web applications.
• Optimize application performance, security, and scalability.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in PHP development.
• Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and project planning sessions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
• On the project you will come across modern architectures built on Symfony, Twig, MariaDB, ElasticSearch, Docker, CI, BI, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of proven experience as a PHP Developer, with demonstrated success in building and maintaining high-traffic, scalable web applications
• Good PHP proficiency including deep understanding of PHP 8.x features,
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and design patterns
• Experience with modern PHP frameworks, particularly Laravel or Symfony,
• Knowledge in caching strategies, for example Redis or Memcached
• Experience with message queuing systems (for example RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka).Experience in implementing event-driven architectures would be a plus
• Experience with SQL databases (for example MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch)
• Problem-solving mindset
• Good communication skills
• Fluency in English and in Czech (both written and spoken)

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with CQRS, Event Sourcing, and implementing distributed systems
• Knowledge of horizontal scaling techniques, load balancing, and high availability architectures
• Expertise in optimizing database performance,
• DevOps skills: containerization and orchestration
• Understanding of web security best practices
• Experience with monitoring and debugging tools
